Fleet Management Support

The two primary causes of excessive vehicle downtime are as a result of major mechanical repairs and accidents. Whilst accident-related incidents are somewhat out of our control, effective driver management through the VMT should minimize the effects of downtime due to accidents.

  • Predictive forecasting of servicing requirements through data provided by the VMT system.
  • Planning and executing routine servicing and planned maintenance.
  • Scheduling after hours servicing with selected suppliers.
  • Managing collaboration between the maintenance call centre and technical advisors and monitoring progress in respect of major mechanical repairs.
  • Managing standby fleet (refer to ad hoc vehicle proposal) in order to support & availability
  • Analyzing prior maintenance history (life to date) to determine likelihood of possible mechanical failure.

Below is a typical example of one of the many fleet dashboards in the portal:

  • The accident report functionality will be used to extract the relevant information regarding accidents. This will provide helpful information to understand events prior to an accident.
  • The remote deactivation of the vehicle function in very specific instances and in a very controlled manner according to pre-determined business rules.
  • Maintenance and warranty claims where suspected abuse or abnormalities are monitored and can be verified against vehicles trips, and event information to determine driver behaviour and establish if any abuse or misuse of the vehicle occurred.
